A deep understanding of each company ensures that we place more weight on our independent research than on management’s point of view. To promote our client-centric model, each member of our investment team has significant capital invested in Hancock & Gore.
Sandy has been Chair of Hancock & Gore since 29 October 2020. He has been a Director of numerous public and private companies over the past 25 years. He is the former Chief Executive Officer of CVC Limited (ASX: CVC) (between 2000-2019) where he oversaw annual shareholder returns in excess of 15% per annum. He has extensive experience with investee businesses, including providing advice, assisting in acquisitions, divestments and capital raisings, and in direct management roles, especially bringing management expertise to small-cap companies and driving shareholder returns.
Sandy is currently chair of Hancock & Gore (ASX: HNG), FOS Capital (ASX: FOS) and Anagenics (ASX: AN1), and a director of Centrepoint Alliance (ASX: CAF) and Pure Foods Tasmania (ASX: PFT).
Nick is a member of the investment team and is an Investment Director of Hancock & Gore. Nick has over 27 years equity capital markets experience, that spans; Trading, Research, Research Sales, Corporate Finance & Investment Management. Nick has specialty expertise in the Energy, Healthcare/Life Sciences and Small Capitalisation sectors garnered from working both offshore, in London, New York, and in Australia.
Prior to joining HGL, Nick spent 14 years at Morgans Financial, where he was Executive Director of Institutional Equities. Nick oversaw rapid growth of the division’s profitability over the past 10+ years.
Nick has a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from Macquarie Graduate School of Management, a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Queensland, a Graduate Diploma in Applied Investment and Finance from FINSIA.
Nick loves all forms of football, skiing, surfing & spending time with his family.
Phil is a member of the investment team and is an Investment Director of Hancock & Gore. Phil has over 10 years of experience across; Private Equity, M&A, Capital Markets and Investment Management.
Prior to joining HGL, Phil spent 6 years at Alceon Group, where he was a Director in the Private Equity team. Prior to that Phil spent time in the Investment Banking division of Goldman Sachs and at NWQ Capital Management.
Phil has a Bachelor of Economics and Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Western Australia.
Phil is a diehard Fremantle Dockers supporter, loves cricket and travelling.
Michael has over 30 years of experience in finance and investment roles.
Prior to joining HGL, Michael spent 17 years at ASX listed investment group CVC Limited, initially as Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary and then as Investment Analyst and Manager. Prior to that Michael trained at KPMG in the UK and had various finance roles in the UK, New Zealand and Australia.
Michael is a Chartered Accountant and is a member of both Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
Michael has a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Chemistry from the University of Durham, UK.
Michael loves running, cycling and swimming and is still dreaming that England will win the World Cup in his lifetime.
Joseph Constable is the Portfolio Manager of H&G High Conviction Fund and an executive director of Hancock & Gore since June 2020.
He began working in funds management in 2014 and has experience with UK-based Smith and Williamson and Hunter Hall International. Since 2016 he has worked at Supervised Investments Australia Limited, which was acquired by H&G, and rebranded H&G Investment Management Ltd.
Joseph has a Master of Hisory from the University of Oxford and Bachelor of Arts with Honours from the University of Melbourne. He is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Joseph is currently a non-executive director of Po Valley Energy Limited (ASX: PVE).
Arthur has 3 years’ experience in security analysis and markets as well as 5 years’ broader commercial experience in the UK property sector. After finishing his Masters degree in 2020 he provided independent investment research to H&G and Samuel Terry Asset Management.
Arthur is working as an analyst for the H&G High Conviction Fund as well as providing market analytics, research, and investment strategies to the H&G wider group.
Arthur has a Master of Commerce from UNSW.
